Dionysus, the God who oversees the entire evolutionary course of man, the course from man to God, the manifestation of his divine nature through the transcendence of his physical nature. He is the closest God to us, chthonian like Zagreus and Olympian like Iacchus, Lysios Dionysus or Elefthereus, who was worshiped as much as any other among the Greeks.
The deep understanding of Dionysus gives us the key to understanding the mystery of our own existence and the purpose of our incarnation, it is the highest Theology, since Dionysus is "the ruler of life and death" (Olymiodorus, Commentaries on Plato's Phaedo, 6.13 .2) and, according to Euripides, he is identified both with Zeus and with Hades: "Zeus or Hades named".
In this book, the myths of the birth of Dionysus and all the myths related to God, such as Adonis, are de-symbolized, the Orphic concepts of Phanis, Metis, Herikapeios, Eros are analyzed, as well as the transformations of Proteus and Dionysus. In addition, an interpretation is given of the games of Dionysus, his sacred symbols and his retinue, Satyrs, Seilines and Maenads. Finally, fifteen Orphic Hymns related to Dionysus and their free rendering are presented, with a word-for-word etymological analysis and many of their points are interpreted based on the concepts of Pythagorean numbers but also of modern Quantum Mechanics.
The whole course of the soul in matter and its return to its cosmic homeland, Agathon, is mysteriously symbolized by the tears of the Gods in the phase of genesis and the laughter of the Gods in the stage of spiritual rebirth, the deification of man, as handed down to us by Proclus (Comments on Plato Politian, 1.128.8-10):
"tears with thee, O noble race of men,
but having eaten the holy race of the gods, you have sprouted"
"Tears of thine are the race of laboring men,
While laughing you created the holy race of the gods".
We are your tears, Dionysus!
